How the 2026 World Cup Works

Group Stage

48 teams are divided into 12 groups of four. Each team plays three matches (one against each opponent in their group). Teams earn 3 points for a win, 1 for a draw, and 0 for a loss. The top two teams in each group qualify for the knockout stage, along with the eight best third-place finishers.

Knockout Stage

32 teams enter the knockout bracket: 24 group winners and runners-up, plus 8 best third-place teams. Single-elimination matches from the Round of 32 through to the Final. Extra time and penalties decide drawn matches. The third-place match and Final take place on July 19, 2026.

Fantasy Draft

Build your squad by drafting real players from any of the 48 nations. Set your starting lineup each round. Score points based on real match stats — goals, assists, tackles, saves, and more. When a nation is eliminated, their players leave your roster and you pick up replacements from the waiver wire.

Bracket Predictions

Predict every group finish position and every knockout match result. Score points for correct predictions — bonus points for exact scorelines. Pick the champion and top scorer. Compete in prediction pools with friends or join a public pool. No draft needed — anyone can play.
