Bracket Scoring Config

Every bracket pool has a scoring config. The defaults follow standard formats — pool creators can customize point values before the first prediction is submitted. Once an entry is in, scoring is frozen.

Champions League Defaults

Champion bonus: +5 if you correctly pick the trophy lifter

World Cup Defaults

Per-match group scoreline picks reuse the same scoreline bonus (exact / GD / result) as knockout — same dial, applied to group matches.

Group standings max: 12 groups × 7 = 84 points.

Total Goals Tiebreaker

You also predict total tournament goals scored. This does not award points on its own — it's used as a tiebreaker on the leaderboard when two entries have identical points. Closer to the actual total = better rank.

How a Scoreline Bonus Stacks

Picks earn the highest applicable bonus, not all three:

You picked Brazil 2-1 Argentina. The match ends Brazil 2-1.

You earn: round points + exact score bonus = 2 + 3 = 5 pts.

You picked Brazil 3-1 Argentina. The match ends Brazil 2-1.

Goal diff matches (+1 for Brazil), result matches. You earn: round points + GD bonus = 2 + 2 = 4 pts.

You picked Brazil 1-0 Argentina. The match ends Brazil 2-1.

Result matches but no GD/exact. You earn: round points + result bonus = 2 + 1 = 3 pts.

Customizing the Config

Pool creators can adjust every dial above before anyone submits a prediction. Once the first entry is locked in, the config freezes — no one can change scoring partway through.
