Managing Your Lineup

Starting vs Bench

  • Your starting 11 score FPts each round
  • Bench players still score, but their points DON'T count toward your matchup total
  • Swap players between starting and bench anytime before their match kicks off

Position Slots

Your starting lineup fills a fixed set of positions. The default ranges are:

  • 1 GK — exactly one goalkeeper
  • 3-5 DEF — defenders
  • 2-5 MID — midfielders
  • 1-3 FWD — forwards

Your commissioner can customize the min/max per position when the league is created — check Settings → Roster for the exact requirements in your league. No flex positions: every slot is a specific position. A midfielder can't fill a defender slot.

Lineup Lock

  • Players lock when their real-world match kicks off
  • Locked players can't be moved until the round ends
  • Check the countdown timer next to each player to see when they lock

Auto-Sub

If your commissioner enables auto-sub:

  • When a starting player plays 0 minutes (didn't appear at all), a bench player automatically subs in
  • Same position only: a benched DEF replaces a starting DEF, a MID replaces a MID, etc.
  • Auto-sub happens after the match ends, not during

Tips

  • Check team news 1 hour before kickoff — if your player is benched IRL, move them to YOUR bench
  • Look for lineup status indicators: confirmed starter, on the bench, or not in the squad
  • In World Cup knockout rounds, keep backup options ready — players from eliminated nations stop scoring (they aren't auto-removed, but swapping them out keeps your lineup productive)
